Privacy Policy

Lumi Notes AI (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a notes and PDF reader with AI study features for iPad. We built the App to need as little of your data as possible. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name or email to use the App.

Information we process

Content you send to AI. When you tap a word, box a math problem, or use the study tools (summary, flashcards, quiz, chat), the selected text or image and the surrounding text from your slide are sent to our backend and to Google’s Gemini API to generate a response. This content is used only to produce your result. It is not used to identify you and is not sold.
Device identifier. A random identifier is stored on your device to count your free AI actions. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We never see or store your payment card details.
Your notes, PDFs, audio. Your imported files, handwriting, and audio recordings are stored locally on your device. Audio is transcribed on-device using Apple’s speech recognition. We do not upload your library to our servers.

Third-party services

Apple — in-app purchases and on-device speech recognition.
RevenueCat — subscription management (privacy policy).
Google Gemini API — generates AI explanations and solutions (terms).

Tracking & advertising

We do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention & your choices

Content sent to AI is processed to return a result and is not retained by us to build a profile of you. You can delete your notes and recordings at any time within the App by removing the note. To request anything related to your data, contact us below.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date.
